Track, cancel, and recover tasks

Check execution, goal acceptance, and file delivery separately.

On this page

Execution state, content quality, and file delivery are separate. Check each when reviewing a conversation or a task on Home.

Screenshots show the Chinese application interface in a Test environment with example data.

Interpret task status

Status or informationMeaning
Queued or runningWork is waiting or in progress.
Waiting for confirmationAn operation needs your review and approval.
Execution endedThe model finished normally; check whether the goal was met.
Failed or canceledInspect the reason and any work already produced.
Needs verificationInspect existing files and results before choosing the next action.

After reviewing the result, mark the goal as achieved or not achieved. That decision is saved with the conversation.

Test task states: running, needs attention, and recently ended appear in separate groups.

  1. 1Filter by task name, status, or time.
  2. 2Open failure details for a task that needs attention.
  3. 3An ended run still needs its content and saved files checked.

Distinguish running, failed, and ended tasks

Test task states: running, needs attention, and recently ended appear in separate groups.

Check file delivery

An output can be saving, saved, snapshot-only, failed to save, or awaiting verification. File-integrity checks establish that the file passed structural checks, not that its statements are true or its code was tested.

Cancel and recover

  1. Use the current task's cancel action to stop work.
  2. Check the resulting status. If verification is requested, inspect generated files and operations that may have completed.
  3. After restarting the application, open the old task and read its guidance before sending a follow-up.
  4. If only saving failed, retry saving the output instead of generating it again.

Ordinary Agent conversations do not promise reliable pause-and-resume behavior. Research has separate stage-based continuation controls.

Damaged records

An isolated damaged conversation does not prevent healthy conversations from working. Inspect the abnormal record in history and use backup and recovery in Settings. Include a redacted error and diagnostic identifier when contacting support.

Next step

See saving and exporting outputs for delivery states, or troubleshooting for failures.

Configure model, media, and connected services as needed. See each article for requirements.
