Read, annotate, and translate

Keep notes close to the source and check translations against the original.

On this page

Open an article or file from the Library and check that the original displays correctly. Reader tools depend on the content type.

Screenshots show the Chinese application interface in a Test environment with example data.

Read and annotate

  1. Adjust font and size in typography settings. For PDFs, use page navigation, zoom, or the outline.
  2. Select a passage and choose a highlight or note action from the selection menu.
  3. Check it in the annotations panel or the Library's excerpts view.
  4. For a question, use the relevant passage as context and say what you need explained.

Keep annotations associated with their source. Copied text may lose its original locator, so retain the source for long-term use.

Ask beside the sample source. The question shown is an unsent draft, not a generated answer.

  1. 1Reader tools appear above the source and vary by content type.
  2. 2Enter a question in the side panel and request source citations.
  3. 3Check the source, agent, and model before sending.

Use reading tools and questions beside the source

Translate content

Use whole-document or selected-text translation where the reader supports it. The translation model in Settings handles the corresponding text operations. Check progress, then switch between the original and translation to verify terminology, numbers, and context.

Resolve missing text extraction before requesting translation. Scanned PDFs and PDFs with selectable text require different processing, which affects speed and results.

Find reading records

The Library provides source filters, excerpts, and reading status. Marking an item as read records your progress; it does not mean a model checked the entire document. See audio and video reading for time-based navigation.

Next step

Use your selected passages for source questions, or learn to organize sources and folders.

Configure model, media, and connected services as needed. See each article for requirements.
