Liquid AI releases weights for six compact LFM3 models

Liquid AI launched LFM3 with six models of roughly two billion parameters, covering text, vision, audio, an omni model and two decision variants. All build on LFM3-1.7B-Base, pretrained on 22 trillion tokens. The architecture combines convolutions, sliding-window attention and global attention for local execution and specialized deployments.

Weights are available on Hugging Face, with hosted access through Liquid AI's Playground and API. The text model supports a 256K context window, the vision model adds video input, and the audio model covers 18 languages. Local fine-tuning instructions give developers a path to adapt the models to their own data and tasks.

Replit Cloud Agents turn requests into reviewable code changes

Replit opened Cloud Agents to Pro and Enterprise customers, allowing colleagues in design, support and other roles to request changes to an existing company codebase. An agent implements the request in an isolated cloud environment, provides a working application preview, and creates a GitHub pull request or GitLab merge request. Engineers retain the decision to merge and ship.

The system uses a browser to exercise the application, identify and fix problems, and attach screenshots or test videos for review. Administrators can configure a shared environment that updates from the main branch. A feature that turns engineering feedback into team skills remains in early access, and those skills require engineering approval.

Apple previews Creator Studio integrations and office assistants

Apple announced a November update to Creator Studio at no additional cost for existing subscribers. Final Cut Pro for Mac will integrate MotionVFX effects and a Content Hub that includes stock video. Images from a timeline can be edited in Pixelmator Pro and returned automatically to the video project.

Keynote, Pages and Numbers will gain beta assistants that understand document context, along with MCP support for external agents to read content, edit documents and take actions. Logic Pro also has a beta assistant planned. The release window is November; these announced assistant features are not yet generally available tools.

  3. 2026-10-27OpenAI

Oracle and OpenAI plan a cross-application workspace and expand purchasing

OpenAI and Oracle are expanding their partnership to connect Oracle applications and enterprise data with ChatGPT. Oracle AI Workspace, currently in development, is intended to coordinate tasks across finance, procurement and planning applications while respecting existing permissions and approval processes. That workspace remains a product plan.

A separate purchasing route is already available: Oracle customers in the United States can buy the OpenAI API, Codex and ChatGPT Work through Oracle Marketplace using eligible Oracle Universal Credits. The purchasing channel and application integration are at different stages; availability of the former does not mean the complete workspace has launched.

  4. 2026-10-27LangChain

LangChain open-sources its design agent and reports lower model spending

LangChain released the framework behind Content Studio, its internal design agent that turns Slack requests into code-based videos, slide decks and social graphics. According to its internal usage records, the system has produced more than 3,000 assets and 80 slide decks. Median model spending per request is about $0.50, compared with roughly $8 in mid-September.

Built on Managed Deep Agents, the workflow incorporates brand colors, fonts, design principles and review steps, with progress and approvals handled in Slack. The spending figures cover model calls rather than all staffing, infrastructure and production costs. The open-source framework exposes how that design process is implemented.

  5. 2026-10-27Google Gemini

Gemini adds a SynthID entry point for checking Google-generated media

Google announced SynthID detection within Gemini for checking whether images, video or audio were generated by Google's AI. Users can ask whether a file is AI-generated directly in their existing conversation workflow.

The update adds a detection entry point inside Gemini, with a stated scope of Google-generated media. It is not a universal classifier for every model, so a failure to detect Google provenance does not establish that a person created the material.

NVIDIA plans a $3 billion Meta investment and broader Muse collaboration

NVIDIA said it would invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering and expand collaboration on training, inference performance and total cost of ownership for the Muse model family. Meta intends to expand its use of Vera Rubin, Vera CPUs, and Spectrum-X and BlueField-4 networking technology.

The companies are also considering work on the OpenShell reference architecture and Sentry monitoring for agent deployment and security. The investment is a planned transaction, and not every technical direction is already deployed. Published on October 26, the announcement specifies NVIDIA's contribution and the technical scope of the partnership.

  2. 2026-10-27Anthropic

Anthropic's expanded GSA agreement offers a 40% government discount

Anthropic expanded its agreement with the US General Services Administration to offer eligible government organizations a 40% discount on Claude Enterprise, Claude for Government and the Claude API, with no minimum spending commitment. Coverage extends to state, local, tribal and territorial governments.

Discounted direct purchasing from Anthropic is available now, while equivalent cloud-provider purchasing discounts are planned for the coming months. The products are also included in GSA's Multiple Award Schedule, providing an established procurement route for government organizations.

  1. 2026-10-27Anthropic

A 50-analyst study tests the influence of hidden agent preferences

Anthropic had professional analysts use Claude Code with Claude Opus 4.8 on a causal-analysis task involving a fictional agricultural cooperative. Researchers secretly randomized the agent's preferences on several decisions. The main analysis covered 50 participants who used the agent: across four analytical choices, 86% of decisions matched its assigned preference.

Across 38 choices where participants had already expressed a preference, they changed it 60% of the time when the agent disagreed, versus 6% when it agreed. This small-sample comparison carries substantial uncertainty. The model was instructed to make the strongest honest case for its assigned position, avoid misleading arguments, and change its stance if evidence warranted it. Preferences were deliberately amplified in a single experimental task, so 86% is not an estimate for ordinary workplace decisions.

  2. 2026-10-27Ai2

Ai2 finds a 52.6-point prompt sensitivity gap in novelty judgments

Ai2 released Old Ideas, Novel Problems and accompanying evaluation materials to test six language models as judges of research novelty. One set pairs highly novel human research with generated ideas across 154 comparisons. GPT-5.4 scored 93.5% when explicitly told that exactly one idea was novel, but 40.9% under a more ordinary formulation, a difference of 52.6 percentage points.

The evaluation also draws novelty judgments from ICLR 2026 reviews, and the team released its data and evaluation code. The human-versus-generated pairs use weak labels: they do not establish through exhaustive literature searches that every generated idea lacks novelty. The experiment measures the stability of model judgments under particular datasets and prompting conditions.
