ima is Tencent's knowledge assistant, organised around a search–read–write loop rather than a chat box. You assemble a knowledge base from your own documents, ask against it, and the output can come back as a deck, a report or a podcast rather than as a paragraph. That last part is what separates it from a general assistant: the unit of delivery is a document, not a reply. There is also a discovery feed of knowledge bases other people have published, which makes it partly a shared-research surface.

Best for

  • Answering from a curated set of sources
  • Research that ends in a deck or report
  • Shared team knowledge bases

Key features

  • Knowledge bases that ground answers in your own documents
  • Generates slide decks, reports and podcasts from a topic
  • A discovery feed of knowledge bases others have published

Why it matters

Grounding answers in a knowledge base you assembled is the difference between an answer you can check and one you have to re-verify.
