GEMINI FOR WORKCourse outline

GEMINI FOR WORK

Gemini for Work

32 lessons that run your whole workflow through Gemini and the Google ecosystem

This course covers one product: Gemini. No model rankings, no constant three-way comparison — it treats Gemini as your primary tool and takes you from sign-up and billing through to a closed loop around your working day. Four modules cover account, plans, and settings; the machinery that is Gemini's alone (Gems, NotebookLM, the Chrome sidebar); real tasks across Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Docs, and Drive; and finally quotas, teams, and privacy boundaries. No coding required. Product-independent groundwork like prompt writing and tool selection lives in AI at Work: Foundations and is not repeated here.

Course content

MODULE ONE

Module One: Account, Plans, and Setup

Get the account and the expectations straight first: where Gemini sits in the Google ecosystem, how Free / AI Pro / AI Ultra differ and stack with a Workspace subscription, when to switch between Flash and Pro, and the settings that ship on by default and you have probably never opened. It closes with the availability problem users in China cannot avoid.

MODULE TWO

Module Two: Gemini's Own Machinery

This is where Gemini pulls away from the others. Gems turn repeated context into a team of assistants; NotebookLM turns your own material into a knowledge base that answers only from it; the Chrome sidebar puts the assistant inside your browser; and with scheduled actions and Drive connections, Gemini stops being a chat box and becomes a layer over the files and calendar you already have.

MODULE THREE

Module Three: Real Work, End to End

Apply the first two modules to real tasks, all of it closing the loop inside Google: clearing email in Gmail, running data in Sheets, drafting in Slides, revising in Docs, reading hundred-page PDFs out of Drive. Add Deep Research, translation, Nano Banana images, Veo video, guided learning, and Meet summaries, and most of your working day has a Gemini path through it.

MODULE FOUR

Module Four: Limits, Teams, and Boundaries

The problems you only hit after a while: how quotas are actually counted, why the bill differs from what you expected, what an admin controls in Workspace, and what should never go to Google. Plus a checklist of common failure modes, an honest account of when to switch to ChatGPT or Claude instead, and a thirty-day practice plan to turn this course into a habit.

Learning outcome

By the end, Gemini should be your default entry point for daily work — research, writing, email, data, images, video — and you should also know the tasks where it loses to the other two, and switch without hesitating.

  • Complete sign-up, pick a plan, and fix the key settings, including how it stacks with a Workspace subscription.
  • Use Gems to turn repeated context into a team of dedicated assistants.
  • Use NotebookLM to turn your own material into a conversational, citable knowledge base.
  • Handle email, data, presentations, writing, and long documents across Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Docs, and Drive.
  • Run research with Deep Research, images with Nano Banana, video with Veo, and meeting notes with Meet.
  • Read your quota and bill, hold a privacy line, and judge when to switch to ChatGPT or Claude.
